I'm pretty sure men lack the ability to tell if a size is way off.

Two examples. The tee shirt my brother got C while on his honeymoon in Thailand. He thought it might be too small.

The other example is the phillies hat my husband thought would fit C this summer. Barring some extreme head growth spurt, I don't think it will.
